Freshmen Wrestlers:  Congratulations to the Freshmen Wrestlers for a strong showing at this past Saturdayís Raider Invite. Medal winners include: 2nd place ñ Ryan DelAlcazar and Zach Ahmad. First place ñ Faiz Hameed and Tony Ashley

Holiday Band Concert:  The Glenbard South Bands will be presenting a Holiday Band Concert on Wednesday, December 13 at 7:30 pm in the Glenbard South Auditorium. Performing groups will include the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensembles. Highlights of the program for the Concert Band will be Visions of Flight by Robert Sheldon, From the Highest Peak Robert Buckley, Der Lehrmeister by Robert Sheldon, Celtic Bell Carol, and Jingle Bells Forever. Highlights for the Symphonic Band will include Morning Alleluias by Ron Nelson, The Battle of Shiloh by Barnhouse, Polka from “The Bartered Bride” by Smetena, Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, and When St. Nick Comes Marching In. The Percussion Ensembles will perform Ran Kan Kan and Youíre a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Come out and enjoy the holiday season with the Glenbard South Bands!

Fashion Club:  Fashion club is having open work time in the fashion lab (room 114) after school on the next two Thursdays, 12/7 and 12/14. Come make some homemade gifts for the holidays, to use the sewing machines, get a tutorial on our cool embroidery machines, or simply work on your own DIY projects. Need ideas? See Mrs. Gifford in Room 112 ahead of time! Some materials are available to use, though are limited. Check with Mrs. Gifford to see if she has what you need!

Yearbook:  Please help support your Yearbook Staff by eating at Portilloís on Butterfield Rd in
Downers Grove, on Wednesday, December 6, from 5-8 p.m. Be sure to mention you are there for Glenbard South Yearbook.

Student Council Fundraiser:  Don't forget about our Student Council fundraiser at Chipotle on Dec 13th from 4-8pm! Tell your friends and family to go ahead and get the guac! It's for a good cause!  Please see the flyer at the end of the announcements!

Passing Period Music:  We are once again able to play music in the hallway during passing period. A special thank you goes out to Ashwin John for taking on this project this school year. If you have a school appropriate song you would like to have played, please let him know. Song requests can go to Ashwin's Instagram @sam_john2k17, or his Snapchat @ashwinsj13

College and Career Resource Center:  Glenbard South also maintains a list of colleges, universities and military recruiters whose representatives have scheduled visits at our school. This list will be updated weekly on Wednesdays, so stop back frequently to see who is coming and sign up!

TUTORS NEEDED: Are you an "A" student looking to tutor others and earn some extra income?Aristotle Peers is looking for sophomore, junior and senior high school students to tutor others either locally or via Skype. Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Help position available for fall/winter!:  ~Brumley Veterinary Clinic 5328 Main St. in Lisle is looking for part-time help to clean exam rooms, hold animals and assist staff 2-3 days per week. Candidates should be 16 or older (but they would consider a motivated 15 year old).
