Clothing Drive:  Have clothes that donít fit anymore? Donate them to the clothes drive for the Salvation Army hosted by the Junior class between November 27th and December 1st.  Donations can be made in the commons!

Come one, come all to GLENBARD SOUTH for a special holiday breakfast featuring Glenbard South Madrigal Singers.  $5.00 per person includes Pancakes (McDonald's) and Starbucks coffee, Games, Crafts (organized by the Glenbard South Child Development Classes), Activities and of course a chance to visit with Santa. All ages welcome!
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door!

Student Council Fundraiser:  Don't forget about our Student Council fundraiser at Chipotle on Dec 13th from 4-8pm! Tell your friends and family to go ahead and get the guac! It's for a good cause!  Please see the flyer at the end of the announcements!

Boys Swimming:  There will be a meeting for any student interested in being on the boys swimming team this Tuesday, November 14th.  The meeting will start at 7PM and will take place at Glenbard West in Room 224/225.  Tryouts begin November 20th at 2:45PM at College of DuPage.  You must have a physical and be registered in PowerSchool in order to tryout.

Henna:  It's that time of the year again! Henna art will begin November 14 and go on till 16th. Join us during 6th and 7th lunch periods and after school on Thursday in the commons.

Winter Running: Winter Running, Starts Wednesday, November 15th.  For All Female Athletes, (All Sports) not currently in a Winter Sport!  Meet in the old Carpeted Hallway, after school at 2:50, M-F.  Be dressed and ready to run outdoors!  See Mr. Bledsoe for details

Wresting: has started!! Come to the wrestling room after school if you are interested in becoming a wrestler. There is a spot on the team for everyone!!!

USHERS AND BOX OFFICE MANAGERS NEEDED FOR FALL MUSICAL!:  If you are interested in ushering or managing the box office for our fall musical, "Oliver!" next week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, ​please go to the Glenbard South Students Schoology group and fill out the Google form posted by Ms. Wallace!

Fall Musical: "Consider Yourself One of the Family" and get your tickets to see Oliver! performances are November 16, 17, & 18 at 7:30pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in the Bookstore or by following the link on the Glenbard South Homepage. Come support your friends and classmates! Spanish Club:  Come to Spanish Club in Room 104 after school on Tuesday, Nov. 14th!  We'll eat great food and learn more about Day of the Dead.  You don't have to take Spanish or know Spanish.  Just find a friend and come to room 104.  See you there!

ATTENTION ALL NHS MEMBERS:  if you missed the NHS meeting it is your job to go to room 103 to see what you missed!!

Run -don't walk to Ms. Homan's room to get signed up to help out with the annual food drive & bell ringing -- just to name a few....

Political Debate & Consensus Club:  If you enjoy debate and/or fun discussions on politics, come to our meeting in room 301 on Wednesday, November 15 at 2:45 after school! Join us to discuss Social Media and Freedom of Speech - should Facebook, Twitter, and Google be held responsible for the content of their advertisements and work to reach consensus.

Gratitude Day:  After school Wednesday, November 15th, we will host another great service event for our students.  Join us to write a thank you note to someone that has made a difference to you!  This event is sponsored by the ACTS Committee, SFS and more.  As always, there will be FREE FOOD for students that participate!  Let's try to fill the Commons with students and staff for this year's event!

Bass Fishing:  Any students interested in learning about the sport of fishing? All students are welcome. No experience needed. Meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7 PM in the teacher lunch room.

Passing Period Music:  We are once again able to play music in the hallway during passing period.  A special thank you goes out to Ashwin John for taking on this project this school year.  If you have a school appropriate song you would like to have played, please let him know.  Song requests can go to Ashwin's Instagram @sam_john2k17, or his Snapchat @ashwinsj13.

College Wear Tuesdays:  College Wear Tuesdays are back!  Please wear t-shirts, hoodies, and other school appropriate apparel featuring colleges and universities every Tuesday!

College and Career Resource Center:  Glenbard South also maintains a list of colleges, universities and military recruiters whose representatives have scheduled visits at our school. This list will be updated weekly on Wednesdays, so stop back frequently to see who is coming and sign up!


*If a college you are interested in is not currently on the list, please call Anne Lange, and we can reach out to that school to extend an invitation for that representative to visit.

Job Board:  As always, please join our Schoology group, Part-time Jobs/Volunteering and Internships, for more information and to keep up to date on the latest job postings.

TUTORS NEEDED: Are you an "A" student looking to tutor others and earn some extra income?  Aristotle Peers is looking for sophomore, junior and senior high school students to tutor others either locally or via Skype.  Starting pay is $12/hour, with the possibility of pay increases up to $17/hour.  Please see the website for more information and to apply online.

Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Help position available for fall/winter!:  Brumley Veterinary Clinic 5328 Main St. in Lisle is looking for part-time help to clean exam rooms, hold animals and assist staff 2-3 days per week.  Candidates should be 16 or older (but they would consider a motivated 15 year old).  Wages start at $8.25, with opportunities to earn more after 1-2 months of work.  Contact Dr. Tony Ketelaar at 630-852-3570 or brumleyvet@att.net.
