GBS at the Library:  The Glenbard South Life Skills program has partnered with the Glen Ellyn Public Library to present two nights of High Interest/Low Level reading materials book talks on May 2nd and 3rd, from 6:30 - 8PM.  Students will be presenting the library with a donation set of High/Low books and sharing their feedback, recommendations, and refreshments with community members in attendance.

IEA SCORE Grant recipients and special education teachers Megan Webster and Ellen Hill designed a project to generate an interest in reading and library use for young adults with developmental disabilities and spread awareness to community members that reading is a right for every citizen in Glen Ellyn.  After conversations with librarians at the community library, it became evident that there is a general lack of resources for individuals with lower reading levels but age-appropriate interests (hi/low books).  The Life Skills high school students would like to form a partnership with the library by expanding the library's section of high/low materials, assist in the process of implementation, read and review the books, and host community book talks to raise awareness of these resources.
